About us

Building the ultimate hotel operations company

Founded in 2020, we’re a fast-growing hotel operator aiming to break new ground with our sustainable, feel-good and people-centred philosophy. Our goals are to be the best at things that matter most:

1. Becoming a great employer in hospitality

2. Managing efficient and sustainable hotels in Europe

It’s ambitious, but so are we.

By putting people and the planet first, we aim to create a comfortable, memorable stay that our guests want to experience again and again. Building an experience that feels so good that guests naturally pass on positivity to their colleagues, friends, and families. In doing so, we hope to cause a ripple effect that will touch millions.

Only a few years in and we’re already one of the largest franchisees of Marriott in Europe, now operating in 8 countries, with over 35 hotels, hosting an average of 2 million guests a year.

With further new openings on the horizon, this is an exciting phase of our company, and we’re looking for like-minded people to be a part of it.

Want to join us and be a part of the next chapter of hospitality? Check out all open opportunities across our destinations.

  • Biki Bogaard Chief Human Resources Officer
  • Nevio Sagberg Legal Counsel
  • Paul Wiltjer Chief Information Officer
  • Rosa Ceparano Chief Financial Officer
  • Jens Gmiat COO
  • Tobias Linder CEO

As the Chief Human Resources Officer, She manages overall strategies and processes related to building an wonderful team of Hotel Co 51. By optimizing people centered activities which involves hiring, training and performance management, she ensures that Hotel Co 51 members achieve their highest potential and impact in the company. After law school, she worked in HR for over 25 years in different industries and mostly international settings, though her most recent positions have been in hospitality. She describes her experience in/working in hospitality as a “warm bath”, with kind colleagues who just really enjoy helping each other and guests. Outside of work, she has a broad range of interests. Sometimes she kicks back with a podcast or audiobooks; other times, she’s out hiking, baking and watching Netflix. If you know your Pride and Prejudice from your Emma, Biki always loves to have a chat about Jane Austen.

Nevio is the Legal Counsel at Hotel Co 51. He provides legal assistance across the entire organisation, ironing out contracts, negotiating franchises and other agreements, assisting with any potential disputes, and ensuring the company meets its regulatory requirements. Before joining Hotel Co 51, he worked for an international hotel real estate company and an international hotel chain, so he knows the sector inside out. He’s also held roles in banks, finance and retail businesses across Europe and beyond. Joining a start-up is a fresh challenge for Nevio, which excites him. When he’s not wearing his lawyer’s hat, he spends time with his family, participating in sports (he’ll beat you at ping pong) and travelling.

Modern hotels need to be digital-first, so as Hotel Co 51’s Chief Information Officer, Paul is responsible for all our IT systems and processes. He makes sure our booking systems, intranet and internal communications systems work across borders, complies with privacy laws like GDPR and keeps our guests’ information safe from cybercriminals. Paul has worked in similar roles for almost 20 years at several international hotel chains. With this experience, he can make sure the hotel operations and the IT systems are aligned and running smoothly. He’s a big fan of sports like skiing, fitness and sailing and also has wide-ranging hobbies such as model building, gaming, programming and electronics.

Rosa is Hotel Co 51’s Chief Financial Officer. She is responsible for all the company's accounting, finance, reporting, taxes, controlling, and financial planning. She started her career in Italy as an auditor at one of the Big Four before moving to the Netherlands. She dipped her toes in the hospitality industry by working for a real estate developer focused on hotel buildings. Rosa says she loves this industry: it’s a business made by people for people - and Rosa loves that you feel this energy and attitude in every department, even the finance one. She joined Hotel Co 51 since its very beginning and says it is a little like watching a baby grow. Outside of work, Rosa likes to learn new things constantly: she’s now mastering her tennis skills and next up, German.

Jens is the Chief Operating Officer at Hotel Co 51. This means he’s responsible for all operational and commercial aspects of the business, helping the company grow with the right structures, procedures, and culture. He’s worked in the hospitality industry for over 30 years, starting as a trainee. Since then, he’s worked in practically all departments of hotels, completed hospitality management studies, and worked in several countries. He’s progressed from a receptionist role to Rooms Division Manager to General Manager for different brands worldwide. Over the last decade, he’s focused on now creating and developing new brands. Jens loves staying fit, is an avid reader who enjoys exploring different cultures, and travels as much as possible. Sometimes you might meet him on the dance floor too – he loves clubbing.

Tobias is Hotel Co 51’s CEO, which means he has the ultimate responsibility for the company’s success while doing his best to take care of our fantastic employees. Tobias started his career many years ago at his family's ice cream business (created by his grandfather in 1950). So, you could say entrepreneurialism is in his blood. He was educated as a lawyer. After a few years at a law firm and the European Commission, Tobias began working for Inter IKEA Group, including handling the franchising of the IKEA Concept. After three years, he started to support the Property Division, where the collaboration with Marriott for the development of hotels was in focus. In 2019, he became responsible for Vastint Hospitality, which constructs hotels throughout Europe. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, he stepped out of that role and launched Hotel Co 51. He is married with three young children, so he tries to spend as much time with them outside of work. Tobias also loves to spend time in nature – in forests, mountains or underwater – it helps him relax and put things in a wider perspective.
